Are hearing aids covered by health insurance?

Health insurance plans often cover hearing aids, but WHAT they cover and HOW MUCH is covered depends on the specific plan and insurance company. Before making an investment in hearing aids, it’s helpful to look at the details of your own personal health insurance plan to fully understand what is covered and what is not.

Our Scottsdale audiologists want to help you find the perfect hearing loss solution, and that may include hearing aids. They will fully evaluate your hearing and recommend a treatment plan to meet your specific needs. Then, if hearing aids are part of the solution, they will help you find the perfect set – ones that are both suitable for your hearing loss and are at least partially covered by health insurance, whenever possible. After all, you’ll be more likely to wear them if they work well for your hearing AND your budget!

Does health insurance cover professional ear wax removal?

Most insurance plans DO cover ear wax removal completed by our Scottsdale audiologists. Depending on your specific health plan, you may only have to pay a copay or deductible.

If ear wax removal is NOT covered by your insurance, please still seek professional help. Our typical ear wax removal service costs as little as $30-$40 per ear without insurance … that’s much more affordable than doing it yourself and causing further pain, discomfort, or even hearing damage!
